I've been where you are. That's why I do this work.

— Laura Justin —

Women's Health Physiotherapist & Reconnected Birthing Practitioner

If you’ve landed here feeling like your body isn’t quite yours anymore — like you’re recovering physically while also trying to process something emotionally that no one seems to have time to hear — you’re in the right space.

I built Held to Heal for you.

The work found its depth in the experiences I didn’t plan

MY STORY

new mum and baby at physio consult

I’ve known I wanted to be a physiotherapist since I was young. But the shape this work has taken (the depth of it) came from the experiences I didn’t plan.

I was mentored early in my career by incredible Women’s Health physiotherapists who encouraged my heart-led approach. Then I spent years in remote First Nations communities, where I learned what it truly means to listen — to be fully present with someone, not just clinically competent.

Then I became a mum.

Going through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum myself cracked something open. Not just in my body, but in my understanding of what women walk through. The physical recovery. The emotional weight. The way your sense of self shifts in ways no one warned you about. The six-week check that asks about your baby but not really about you.

I came back to women's health and pelvic health because of that experience. Because I wanted to be the practitioner I wish I'd had.

That's where the name Held to Heal came from — learning that the biggest shifts happen when a mother is truly listened to. My role is not to fix, but to guide a woman back to her body's own ability to heal.

WHAT I BELIEVE

Being truly heard is itself part of healing

I believe your symptoms are your body asking for support, not a verdict you have to live with.

I believe that being truly heard is itself part of healing. Not just having your pelvis assessed, but having your whole experience witnessed and held.

I believe new mums deserve more than to be cleared and sent on their way.

CREDENTIALS & APPROACH

Experienced hands.
A different kind of care.

This isn’t your average Physio appointment.

It’s a space built just for you.

I'm a physiotherapist with over 8 years of experience across sports, musculoskeletal, and pelvic health care, with a long-standing specialisation in Women's and Pelvic Health. I'm based in Darwin and see women in-person, as well as online across Australia. My practice is trauma-informed — which means I understand that what happens in the body is never separate from what's happened to the person.

As a Reconnected Birthing Practitioner, I completed almost a year of training
and mentorship through Core and Floor Restore to support women through both the physical and emotional dimensions of their birth experiences — something no standard Physio qualification covers.

I use somatic (body and breath) and systemic (role play and visualisation) tools alongside physiotherapy to help women go deeper than symptom management, connecting with what the body is holding, and finding a path through it.
